Parent ABA Training Sessions

At GPS we believe that parents are the main component to your child’s development, and this is why we are offering an eight week course on coaching you on how to develop and implement strategies that the most appropriate for your child, as well as teach you the many opportunities that you have daily to teach your child (Natural Environment Teaching – NET)

Topics including:

  • Difference between Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI)
  • Picture Exchange Systems (PECS) and why they can be of value to all learners with exceptionalities.
  • The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS)
  • Academics and other skills
  • Sensory Integration disorder
  • Social Skills
  • Gross Motor and fine Motor Skills
  • Understand what a demand is and the necessity of generalization
  • Coping mechanisms and calming strategies

Meet the Teacher

rebecca

Rebecca has ten years’ experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She has completed her studies at Seneca College as well as York University and has her BCaBA qualification. Her wealth of experience and knowledge of Applied Behavioural Analysis has help many learners acquire new skills. Rebecca has the strong ability to develop formal reports and individualized learning plans and programs; as such she tailors each intervention based on the learner’s skill set, needs, preferences, interests and family situation. These attributes enable the children to reach their full potential.
