Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital provides autism diagnostics: Multi-disciplinary assessment for children suspected of having an ASD. They also have social and communication classroom for children with feeding problems associated with their developmental disability; and psychopharmacology clinic for clients whose complex medical and developmental disorders suggest the need for medication management as part of their overall treatment plan. A pediatrician's referral is required to access clinical services.

Kerry’s Place provides Person Centered Planning, referrals to DSO-TR and other agencies, and respite planning. In partnership with Griffin Centre's Community Support Network, the Partners in Autism Program (PIA) is a consultation service for families and caregivers of youth ages 12 to 18 with an ASD diagnosis. They also offers living arrangements within various communities in southern Ontario. Their community services includes community-based recreational, social skill development, and respite programs.

The augmentative communication and writing aids (ACWA) Program supports individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages who have difficulty communicating.

The Autism Treatment Network (ATN) is a network of treatment and research centers dedicated to improving medical care for children and adolescents with autism. The ATN is modeled after the Cystic Fibrosis Network which includes a large network of Clinical Care Centers offering comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, care and counseling. It also involves a network of research centers that engage in projects to advance our understanding of the disease with the aim of developing new treatments and ultimately finding a cure.

Psychotic Disorders Service: assessment and consultative services for children and adolescents (ages 5 - 13) diagnosed with a psychotic disorder. Support understanding diagnosis and treatment recommendations as appropriate. Social Skills Groups is created for children ages 8 — 14 with a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome. Mood and Anxiety Service provides assessment and treatment for ages 4-17 having problems with anxiety. The Arson Prevention program for Children (TAPP-C) provides assessment and intervention to reduce fire involvement (intentional fire setting and/or match/lighter play) and fire safety promotion for age 2-17. Multidisciplinary team offers consultation to children, adolescents, and families with a variety of adjustment, emotional, behavioral, family or parenting difficulties.

Case management and transitional support services provided through our community liaison workers working with young adults with a developmental disability transitioning into the adult sector from the child welfare system. Referrals to this program are restricted to the following four Toronto-based child welfare agencies: Catholic Children's Aid Society of Toronto, Children's Aid Society of Toronto, Jewish Family and Child Services and Native Child and Family Services.

Stuttering Program: group therapy setting for about 1 to 3 hours depending on program.

 

Toronto Community Care Access Centre (CCAC)

In-Horne Services: nursing care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, social work, nutritional counselling, personal support, and home-making. If eligible for above services, other services may be provided such as drug card, medical equipment or supplies, laboratory services, transportation.

Child and Family Services: for children or youth with other special needs and their families, 2 components health and personal support, services as listed above, with the addition of palliative care and respite care (caregiver relief).

 

DLC Residential Services

Residential care with a community focus offered in six group homes in Scarborough and one in East York. Treatment plans include behaviour analysis, social and life skills training, communication, and social/ community integration. Consulting Psychiatrist as well as play, art and speech therapists available.
